10mm
I own a S&W model 1006 with a Barsto barrel. The seriel number begins with TZZ. I'm curious about the barrel. Was this a custom addition or did Barso make factory barrels for this gun. Also, can anyone shed some light on the age of the gun based on the TZZ start to the serial number?
Thank you.

The barrel is aftermarket, not factory supplied
I would guess that TZZ would be toward the end of the 1006s, probably 1993

Yes, Bar-Sto used to make some very nice barrels for the S&W 10mm 3rd gen. guns.
I managed to get the Bar-Sto 40S&W conversion barrel early 90's and later I got a 9x25Dillon conversion from Mike McNett that he had them make.
Still holding on for the barrels I have on order with BM1 here on the forum...

Shadow I've seen many different posts eluding to the project BM1 has going on with different conversion barrels for the 10xx, yours in the most recent comment I've seen referring to it. Do you know if that project is still moving forward? If so I'd love to get in on it, any info would be great. Thanks in advance!

BM1 has been trying to get time back on the CNC machines, he had some family issues to deal with and the company where he was using the machines had a big contract run so that hasn't allowed him machine time in quite some time. I have no time frame for when he might get back to the finishing of this project but I remain hopeful! I'm sure with access time he will complete what he has started.
