Default 6906

In an LGS today , one of the patrons stated that the 6906 will go back into production. I've searched the Smith and Wesson website I don't see any info on this. Has anyone heard anything?

I'm not holding my breath. While that would be nice, there are 3rd Gen guns that are much more popular (3913, 4513TSW) that S&W would find marketable over the 6906. I love mine, but it's not what comes to mind when I'm daydreaming about new 3rd Gen (or 4th Gen) guns.

I never knew that.

Is the grip thinner?

I have a pretty good size large hand but it's a stretch for my trigger finger on my 6906.

I recall discussing what auto we would like to see them produce again awhile back. Honestly, the 6906 would make alot of sense for starters. Kind of a middle-of the-pack size pistol.

I doubt they're ready to stop pushing the 9c, though.

I've grown an extreme liking to steel and aluminum alloy semi auto pistols. I've shot these 6906 and its big brother in 45, I love them both. is there any other steel frame or alloy frame semi auto there isn't a 1911 or a CZ that I can look at? I love my 1911 in 45 ACP. I have nothing against a CZ, I have nothing against any polymer frame. I just like my steals and alloys.

Sig P239. Alloy frame, 9mm, single stack, frame mounted decocker. Comes in TDA and DAO versions. Many people think it's the gun S&W should be making.

I also wish that S&W would reintroduce the 6906. I was my favorite duty firearm. I carried one almost exclusively for years. Mine is a well worn square trigger guard pre-Novak sight model. I carried mine from When it first came out (about 1989) until 2005 when it was replaced by a Glock 17 and a Glock 26.

I have a Sig P226, my brother has a 938 and I have handled the P239. My if its not cocked and locked, I rather a DA/SA trigger.
