Default SW1911 (108282)

Just bought one of the "non billboard" versions. Does anyone know when/why they switched from the huge SW1911 stamp to the more subtle logo? Also, I was comparing this against a Sig 1911 but the SW just felt better in the hand. Anyone have one and can tell me what to expect? Comparing the SIg and SW1911, did I make the right choice?

Thanks for your help!

I'd say you definitely made the right choice. You bought it for you, therefore the one that fits you better should be what you go with. You can always save up and get the Sig later if you really like it. This coming from someone who owned a Sig (Nightmare Carry) and loved it.

Would love to see some pics of your new billboard. I've got three of the S&W 1911's and him very pleased. Be sure to post a range report, also the letters on the seriel number could be important also to you.

Mine's a billboard, and I love it. My first and so far only 1911. I shoot with a bunch of guys who have other makes. Sigs, a Dan Wesson, a Kimber. Seems like they're always tinkering with them or taking them to the gunsmith for one problem or another. Mine just shoots and shoots and never complains.
