Default S&W 745

Put money down on a S&W 745 with 6 mags, no box. It's in about 90% condition. Kind of an impulse buy, not sure why I bought it, I shot a friend of mines 745 back in the 80's and liked it. Paying $650.00 for it. Now I am starting to regret it. For those of you that have them are they pretty good shooters?

Yes, they are very good shooters. If you decide you don't like it, I'm sure you can list it here in the classifieds and get your money back.

My opinion the 745 is part way up there with the Model 52, well closer that any other auto, excluding PC. I think after you shoot it a few times you may change your mind. They are very reliable and accurate, the downside to some is the mag cap. With 6 mags your laughing.

In my opinion, $650 is a reasonable price for a very accurate and visauly appealing gun. Its design led directly to the Performance Center models 845 and 945, two of the best target pistols around, both of which go for more than twice what you have there.

I would expect to pay no less than $450 for one in 90%, so just figure you bought an additional 5 mags at $20/mag. And sounds like you bought it from a dealer... so he needs his mark up, and tax. Maybe towards the high side of fair market value, but not unreasonable.

I had a couple 645's, but got tired of the "combat accuracy" they provided. Loved the gun, just not how it shot. So when I got my 745 I was very happy... until I started shooting a 945, which now I have several- and they weren't cheap. So just enjoy it, and don't sweat a few extra dollars you may think you overspent on it.

I forgot to mention I live in Massachusetts where we tend to pay more for guns. So I guess I got a pretty good deal. will pick it up in the next 2 weeks. Thanks for all the positive comments.
