Bought a used 5906 in nice condition. The slide won't lock back after the last shot. Tried several magazines with the same result. If I insert an empty magazine and pull back the slide, it stays back. Any suggestions?

You may be having your thumb resting on the slide lock. Try moving your thumb under the slide lock when shooting. Also, see if the slide lock has free play when you move it up and down. If the slide locks back on the empty magazine, it is probably your thumb. Trying to diagnose the problem with out seeing it is only guessing and trying to solve it the best way with the scenario.

Check the slide stop plunger may be gummed up and under recoil my not allow the slide stop to make it in time. Drop of oil my get it back up and running.
Or all your mag springs are weak...

The slide stop is a neglected item. If the gun is carried, dust and moisture gets into the spring and around the plunger. I've seen them rusted and crusted..
