Are fixed sights on Gen 1,2,3 adjustable?
Ha! Dumb question, right? What I mean is, I understand they aren't adjustable by turning an adjustment screw, but can they be tweaked by tapping them left or right in their dovetail, like on my M&P Bodyguard?

The short answer is....yes. The front sight can also be moved in the dovetail, if needed. (if it's a dovetailed sight)

Gen 1 pistols are adjustable for windage by turning an adjustment screw and 2nd/3rd gens can be tapped if necessary.

Good luck tapping. The JMT line of sight pushers got its start with the rear sight on a 4006. It was so tight that it sounded like a .22 going off when it broke loose.

S&W used to sell white dot dove tail front sights in various heights for adjusting the elevation of 3rd generation pistols. They probably still do.
Although some members here opine the 3rd generation adjustable sight with protecting wing is too ugly to allow in their county they are great sights in use. The only way they'd loose their adjustment is if your opponent snuck into your house with a screwdriver. If you are shopping for a full size 3rd generation consider one.

Thanks for the information, guys. Exactly what I needed.
I understand that many like the big adjustable sight, but I truly hate it because of its looks. How a gun looks is important to me, especially one that's more of a hobby gun than a utility EDC.
