S&W 645 - Am I loosing my sanity?
I bought my first S&W 645 about 3-4 months ago. Really a super gun. In fact, I liked it so much I bought another! At least I can justify it because now I can have one in each hand. One of my idiosyncrasies is I detest plastic or rubber grips. All of my S&W hand guns have to have wooden grips. (The original grips are put in labeled baggies for the purest who likes original grips.) The grips on the two S&W 645 are from Hogue and are checkered Coco Bola wood. To me, it makes them look really cool.
Perhaps I think I'm sane now but if I buy a third one, then I guess I could be considered to be crazy,

Two is merely prudent. When you get above four you are getting strange.

A friend of mine owns a 645 which he purchased new in the 1980s. Out of the box, the trigger was a little rough, but after a couple hundred rounds, it really smoothed out. Very well-made gun. Hope you get years of enjoyment from yours.

Those guns look great Bill. I just bought one from a forum member here to replace the one I foolishly sold back in the late 80's. Only thing I never liked was the red ramp front sight. When I saw one for sale that had a different front sight it was an omen. Had to have it.
Really like those grips. May have to visit Hogue's web site. Thanks for posting the pics.

Nice guns.
I am pretty happy with the one that I have. Although I need to find one with the straight back strap as I prefer that. Mine has the curved back strap.

Alas, I don't have a 645, but there are a couple S&W pistols I have more than one of.
Three 39's (one is a no-dash)
Two 639's
Two 52's
Two 745's
Two 4006's
They're like kids, you love them all and they are similar but different in their own way and you have a connection to each of them!

I agree with Sevens nothing wrong with having multiples of the same gun (especially 3rd gens)
I have:
4-3954's
4-4014's
2-4054's
2-4516's
2-4556's
2-4596's
2-5903ssv's
2-5905's
2-5926's
2-6944's
But just 1 645 & 745...645's are great guns...more the merrier
Cheers!!!

Congrats on a couple of fine looking 645's. Keep buying them and be known as a 645 collector.

Good God man!!! You have Smithitis really, really bad. You need insurance coverage around $1M to protect all the pistols in your collection from fire or theft. Or you could send some to me and I'll keep them safe for you!

"Am I losing my mind?"
Yes.
Don't fight it. It's easier that way
Instead of claiming one for each hand I think you should consider this: You have 8 possible trigger fingers and only 2 triggers..... keep shopping
Nice pair!
