Default 39-2 Pros&Cons

I am looking at a shooters grade 39-2 s/n A309275 for $350. I am a wheel gunner and have no knowledge of this gun. Please share your thoughts. Thanks in advance as I enjoy the wealth of information on this forum.

The only con I have is a so-so DA trigger but the SA and reset are very good. Feels great in the hand and is very accurate. Mine have been 100% reliable but I haven't shot hollow points.

This is all from the standpoint of a range gun or home defense...it will fill those roles very well. As for CC it will surely do it but perhaps a bit bigger and heavier than some would like.

It isn't a modern high capacity plastic gun (thank goodness) but it is a classic gun with good looks that will outlast several owners. For $350 you are getting a lot of fun wrapped up in metal and wood so I would definitely not pass it up.

If it shoots, 350 sounds like a deal...I've been shooting a 39 (nothing) since 1968 and have never had a problem with it.

$350 for that 39 and one mag, going rate down here. Very fair price .
May have shipped in Nov. 1976. But these guns are all over the place. Request a ship date. I have never had one to feed, function or eject. Buy it, you will love it.

I bought one a lot of years ago and paid $400. ,so if it's in decent shape $350. wouldn't be a bad deal!

Hello Mr. Hunter, well did you buy it? I hope so. Run of the Mod 10-5s are going for $400. Have several of both of these classic S&Ws.
