Model 645 Semi-automatic Pistol
To cut to the chase I found a M-645 with the box and paperwork, appears to have been fired very little( I know, that's what they all say) but its nice, has a TBA prefix S/N but there are no tools (cleaning brush, rod or mop) The sights are not adjustable so no SAT but the front does include a red insert and the rear has the white outline. Standard Black composite grip slabs but I would like to replace them with some Pachmayrs.
What all would have been included when was new as far as tools and are the Pachmayr grips still available? My search revealed that Lyman has absorbed the Pachmayr brand with no listings for the M-645.
Due to my advanced age my knowledge has been directed more toward revolvers but this is one of the semi-autos I am fond of because it metal instead of composite material. Thanks for any input you are able to offer!

Obviously, hand sizes differ. I prefer OEM, and the gun is still on the large side. My guess would be that you would have to have pretty big hands to find Pachmayr grips better than the originals.

Thanks guys
I'll look on several sites but the other question was: "What was included in the box with this pistol when new?" I'll find some Pachmayrs or decide on some nice wood slabs that look good! Your replies are appreciated!

I have a 645, bought new in 1987. Mine has adjustable sights. In the box was a second magazine, orange chamber plug (in the pistol chamber), plastic bag with a cleaning rod, mop, keychain style screwdriver. Under the inner box that contained the pistol was the owners manual, field stripping instructions, warranty brochure, and 2 safe handling brochures.
I have replaced my plastic OEM stocks with walnut Model 745 stocks. I did at the time purchase Pachmayrs (still have them) for it but found that they are quite thick. The Model 745 walnut stocks are the same thickness as the plastic 645 stocks.

Congrats on what I feel will be a fine gun for you or anyone else. Just by coincidence I was looking at a 645 just this morning at a LGS. Condition was average at the very best with one mag and nothing else. Also the mag did not seat well in the mag well. Hang tag price....$559.00! I'd love to have a 645 but I sure ain't paying that. Again, congrats on yours. I'll find mine someday.

I too have replaced my 645 grips with wooden ones. I have large hands so grips size makes no difference to me. The stainless steel and wood just looks so good together!
