I am buying a brand new performance center model 41 built in 2016. Can I shoot the remington 22 lr hp? Should I replace the recoil spring? Are 40 grain the correct bullet weight?
What do you suggest?
thank you and regards Peter
CCI Standard or some of the specialty RF target ammo. You have a finely tuned target gun and it should be used with ammo it is designed for to achieve best results.
I would suggest CCI SV ammo in this gun as most of us shoot this brand in the M41's. They are ammo selective but the CCI SV does seem to work the best in this model.I have also fired Blazer which is made by CCI as well and Wolf brand which is more pricey then the CCi. It also shoots well in these models. No spring changes needed on any of these in my M41.
Some of the model 41's seem fussie, before you do anything clean it and try some CCI SV, if that works your good to go. If that does not try some other ammo. If that does not work send it back to S&W for a tune-up. Good luck and let us know.
Lucked into some bricks of Rem. and CCI std velocity this spring at a gun show. Shoot at least 10 rounds a day and usually 50. This is the fodder it loves.
Absolutely no reason to fool around with the hot stuff.
I agree Never shoot the High Powered ammo in this gun as all you are doing is beating the gun up if you do. The accuracy is best when shooting just the SV type of ammo.
