Novak Style Night Sights for 6904??
Has anyone installed or know anything about night sights for the S&W autos? I was looking to maybe upgrade my 6904. Its the later production 6904, the same exact one pictured here, not the earlier one. Thank you!

I like the fact that in the future when they go dim, Trijicon will re-lamp their sights (currently for $57). Meprolight does not provide this service.

I never had night sights before. Is the fact that the sights dim over time something that will happen for sure over time?

They will go dim for sure. Tritium has a half-life of around 12 years (which is the time frame of the Trijicon warranty). They will glow for a longer period but at that point they will be half as bright as when new.

I picked up a new in the package set of Trijicon's for under $20, just need to send them in to be relamped.

Dang 12 years is a long time! Most people dont even keep there firearms that long. If it was a couple years I would be concerned but the ability of this company to renew your sights is great granted the company will still be around for that long.

Okay those look like the ones for the older 6906 with different sights. I know for a fact those sights WILL NOT WORK on my later model 6904 with Novak style sights.

@DandyRandy,
Did you try actually looking at Trijicon's website? They have models for just about every S&W 3rd Gen sight style.
Trijicon Bright & Tough™ Night Sights
The ones that will fit a 690X with original Novaks are SA08 and SA24. SA24 is a Novak-style Ramp; SA08 has a 'combat ledge' on the front of the rear sight.

Trijicon is the way to go. I just wish Ameriglo would get on the program. I understand companies are reluctant to manufacture sights for an obsolete pistol but these pistols should last for many years.
