Performance Center PC9/Shorty9
New member here with a question. I just picked up a PC9/Shorty9 at the shop I work at used with 1 mag, 95% condition but no box or manual(beautiful pistol BTW, it's one of the 611 from Lew Horton from what I can find out by the serial number, been wanting one forever). Any links to a disassembly/field strip manual or any tips before I take it apart....
Thanks!!!!!!

Great gun. Take the pressure of the slide. Push out the pin. Slide forward.

Well that's pretty simple, am I pulling the slide rearward at all or pushing the pin out while in battery? Sorry for the extra question.

Welcome to the Forum and Congratulations on a fine firearm
The PC9 disassembles like most all other metal framed Smith and Wesson auto-loaders.
Yes the slide must be out of battery and the notch in the slide positioned above the slide stop.
In this day and age there have to be a dozen YouTube videos that will do so much better than a written description.
Just search for Shorty40, 669, 6904, etc.

Why is it a pain in the butt?
There is no reason to remove the Briley bushing from the firearm. The spherical Titanium Nitride insert rotates enough for barrel removal from the slide.

Not removing it just getting the barrel back in, they are extremely well fit and very tight, I did it today and it is still very tight but soooo smooth.......LOL

Have a shorty .40 and wholesale agree on the briley being a PITA on barrel removal/re-installation. Have the drill down now but at first---.

Well just got my new OEM S&W grips on and it's done, the only marks on this pistol were mainly on the plastic grips. Found brand new ones online for $25 shipped and got them on.....love this pistol, now just have to find some time to shoot it...LOL. Already had it apart once and was very impressed with the workmanship, barrel frame and slide were all marked 52 and the overall fit is impressive, Briley bushing it still pretty damn tight so it was not shot much at all.

Where are your pictures? We love our photos here on the Forum.
Even after many, many thousands of rounds that Briley bushing will still be a precise fit. However by that time you will have gotten the hang of slipping it all back together.
