300 rounds from my new sw22 and extractor spring plunger are gone smith would not send me parts had to ship the gun to them three weeks still waiting thats a week longer then i owned the gun all for a 30 second fix r and d at are expense way to go smith and wesson

I going have to say it is the ejector that's the problem. I believe you lost your extractor, because you may have had an out of battery fire, caused by the ejector. I have missed with two victories with out of battery fire caused by ejector issues. This puts a beating on extractor. Imo.

I too just lost an extractor on my almost 1 month old Victory. Lost it prior to starting a match. I'm not sure if this is related to losing a extractor but when I came home to strip/clean the gun, my cleaning rod got stuck in the barrel. It's completely lead fouled. I cleaned my guns after each range trip, wow...In the process of trying to get the brass cleaning rod out, it snapped. Now I have two reasons to send it back to S&W.

My Victory is over 1 year old and I cant even tell you how many rounds have been through that pistol. No problems ever. No lead build up.
Seems to be the pistols just recently made.
I have heard of problems with take down screw coming loose, barrel coming loose, these problems mentioned. But mine just goes on and on.
I use primarily Federal Automatch and CCI. But have fired that 36 hollow point Federal bulk with no problems. Very accurate.
I use Otis cleaning and lub products on all my firearms. Mine is the Kryptek model. Not sure if that makes any difference. It was all that was available at my shop at the time.

If my memory serves me right, I think one of RFC's members, Iowegan had an extractor failure on a new Victory almost out of the box. I may be mistaken, but if he sees this thread he will probably share his story. Mine has been flawless so far, but I have only put 300-400 rounds through mine.

When I got my Victory a few months ago I was having bad problems with FTE, but thanks to help here on the forums was able to fix it by slightly bending in the ejector a tad. I've probably shot around 800-1000 rounds through it since then with no problems whatsoever.

I probably shot around close to 2000 rounds before my extractor decided it wanted to part ways. With the exception of Aguila standard velocity it ate up everything else. I got my return label from S&W, tomorrow I'm dropping it off to FedEx.
Overall for the many thousands of Victory22's models sold we have had very few failures since the loose barrel days. I think there's a lot more problems in the car industry then in the Gun industry myself. From time to time things will happen but they strive to perfect them and look after their clients fairly well overall.
On one hand I am kind of surprised that Smith & Wesson doesn't just send a new extractor to the customer, but on the other hand, I think it is because they feel that there is another issue that caused the situation. I will say that I don't think that the Victory extractor looks like a very beefy item.

I have had a S&W 22S for 15 years and thousands of rounds of dozens of brands without a hiccup. It might be a more robust platform for 22LR?

Seems like every 22 has some sort of issue. I always have to tinker with my Ruger Mark II as FTF or FTE seems to occur at some time.
Guess it it just the nature of 22 auto feeders to be a bit finicky with ammo and in general. This is why I love my CZ 455 bolt and am in the market for a good 22LR wheel gun.
