Model 39 magazine question
When did the factory stamp both S&W and 9mm on the magazine base? The follower is steel figure 8 so I'm guessing it was early.

I have a NIB M39 no dash with the figure 8 magazine followers. I'll have to look at the base plate markings.

I bought my 39-2 new in 1970.
It came with 2 mags.
Both had the metal figure 8 followers.
I'm 99% certain that the bases did NOT say "9mm",
just S&W.
They were the longer base plates also.
Hope this helps.
