Last week, I stumbled across a new Grade I Browning lever action BL-22 at a LGS that struck my fancy. Years ago, I owned a Grade II BL-22 that I should have held onto. I bought the Grade I because I missed having the little lever action plinker, and I needed something to lift my spirits. I cleaned, oiled, and waxed it, but I haven't shot the little devil yet. I expect it will be every bit as accurate and fun to shoot as the BL-22 I formerly owned.

A post-war Military & Police. Why? Because you can’t have too many K frames Seriously, after years of accumulating Combat Masterpieces, this was my first M&P/Model 10 type. Something about that 5” tapered barrel struck me, and the price was right for the great condition it’s in. I just picked it up today. Sorry, no pics yet.

Forgot about this one, was sitting at my FFL for almost two weeks. Minty with 4 mags.
Why? I had a stainless CS9 for many years, but traded it for a CS45 to a good friend. A couple days later I got the bug again to get another CS9 and wound up with two.
My two CS9’s and the CS45 I traded for.
Who’da thunk it?
Oh, the factory grips fit me just fine, and look good too, imo.

Bought it to shoot indoor ASI matches at

Here is my newly acquired 19-6. It's the only K frame I have as of now. I traded off a 66-8 to get it.

Well , since the last time I posted , I bought a M3913LS also . I could say it's for my wife to go with her M60LS , but I can't . I just like the looks and how it fits in my small hands . I wish this post would go away , it gives me an excuse to buy another S&W .

I've gotten bitten a bit also in the last few months....I guess you can say I've been a a bit of a tear...
First there was the 637PD in December, then there was the 3" 64-3 in February (where the heck was I in January!). Next, came along a sweet 3953TSW 9 Tactical (my first SW Gen 2 or 3 in a while). The family continued to grow in March, with a 1969 vintage Suffolk County Police Department (retired) 15-3.

Who would have thought that days later a 1959(?) vintage Model 23 would join the brood?
And so it continues.... an ANIB 3914DAO (NYPD) will be coming home on Tuesday...

The last two handguns that I bought have been Colt's. In Jan. I bought a Model 1903 Hammer in .38 ACP. The other day I picked up a Colt New Service Model 1909 U.S.Army in .45 Colt. Shoots good.

All you guys make me glad I bought the majority of my pieces 8-10 years ago. After seeing and knowing what they sell for these days makes me want to hold on to them forever. I would have bought every 3rd gen ever made if I knew the demand would be like this now. I don’t plan to sell any of third gen smiths but they sky upinto nighthawk territory I just might. Thank gosh I bought while the getting was good.
I added a 380 to my collection but paying 500 plus for used chief specials just ain’t in my plans. Lol

When you bought all your S&W's 10 years ago the old farts were saying the same thing.
Only the widows and their children make a profit on guns.

Mossberg 640KS Chuckster in 22WMR. Why? Pristine all original condition. Manufactured before CNC machining. Weaver B6 scope and mount included. Always wanted a 22WMR rifle but it had to be vintage. I don't do much modern firearm acquisition. Rifle was made between 1960 and 1964. Had a minor magazine issue that was corrected by getting a new magazine from Numrich. Vintage, milsurp, ex-police, and out-of-production firearms are my interest. Not that keen on modern weapons due to prevalence of CNC machining, loose tolerances, and polymer, which has no 'soul.'

Most recent and Why
Sig P226 9mm. It fit my hand well and when brought up to shoot it was aligned with my eyes like no other pistol I've held . 4 20 round mags are welcomed along with two cases of Federal 124 GR HST bullets so we could get to know each other . Trigger is predictably sloppy but this is no Target gun. Form and function are excellent. Night sights are impressive. This is a weapon to be relied on. Good purchase. $1100 OTD (not including ammo)

I bought some 3rd Gen food today. 500 rounds of Federal .45 230gr aluminum cased FMJ and 500 rounds of Blazer Brass 9mm 124gr FMJ.
Because while they are fun to look at, they are more fun to shoot.

A couple of weeks ago I bought a Ruger EC9 because it was $200 bucks and 9mm ammo is cheap.
I kept it until my first range visit with a buddy of mine.
He couldn't believe the price and how well it shot (his opinion).
Every so often I buy a plastic bottom feeder to remind myself why I love my revolvers.
When he expressed interest in the Ruger, I saw my opportunity and took it.
I can't and won't say a single bad thing about my friends new gun.

Here's my latest 2 purchases. I got extremely lucky and just happened to be in the right place at the right time when a 629-3 classic 5" was in the case. I can't honestly believe it even made it without a store employee snatching it up.
Then today I happened upon a carry worthy 640-1 with a MIM trigger. My older 640-1 has a forged trigger and is nearly mint.

Last month a Model 19-4 P&R with Target hammer and Target trigger. Extremely smooth and sweet DA pull, to the point I can't shoot a better group in SA than I can DA.
This week a Model 64-5 4in LEO trade in with wood finger groove grips ( not factory, marked Made in Italy) with almost same smooth DA pull as the M19, and a M&P 2.0 Compact 15 rnd model w/thumb safety. I hate the safety but it was the only one they had. Will S&W remove the safety?
Why? M-64 was under $300 out the door and I have hankered for both and had the opportunity to get them.

Nice finds, sweet wheel guns! That 629-3 is very nice. I've got the 5" barrel 625, love the balance of that barrel and full lug on N frames!

My latest purchase was a C. Sharps model 1885 High Wall with a #1 full octagon barrel. I have always wanted a custom gun made just as I wanted, so I ordered it just as I wanted, waited moths for it to be made and got just what I wanted as a retirement present for myself.

Springfield XD mod2 in .45. Was between this or the M&P 2.0. This won as it was $80 cheaper, holds 3 more rounds and came with 3 mags instead of 2. Just ran one mag through it to test functionality and like it so far.

When I picked up my 500 mag my colt 901 16s came in at the same time. With no future in sight for the colt .308 I thought it best to have a back up for my 901 16 SE.

I’m waiting on a S&W 1911 pro series 3” 9mm. Best of both worlds. Weighs as much as my 4” PPQ, but it’s a 1911 style.

I traded a Glock 22 straight up for a smith & wesson model 60-9 ( 357 )
I'm really happy with this deal. Think I did just fine.

Most recent purchase - a 3rd Generation 4046TSW with the bolt-on accessory rail in front of the trigger. It was a corporate trade-in from Brinks Armored Car service. Why? Because I was looking for either a 9mm or .40 S&W to go with my 4506/4516 hybrid.
And frankly, at $319 I couldn't say No. I spent a few dollars on new Hogue grips and a new recoil spring, did some intense cleaning while I was installing the new parts and it shoots wonderfully. Not too sure I would like the DAO but it grew on me quickly.

My most recent purchase was a 6" model 617.
Reason? Because I didn't own one.

This will take a little explaining. I went into my LGS today to pick up my Henry 22 magnum lever action rifle. While I was there I happened to look into one of the display cases and now in 10 days I will have a Beretta 92S (California). The reason I bought it was because I haven't bought any guns for two weeks. ;-)

I've been looking at those rifles this week....as one is up on my local Armslist for very lightly used at very good price (octagon barrel golden boy 22 mag). Hadn't seen one before, so watched some vids and read some reviews. Now I really want it! Have 22LR, but no magnums in the safe yet. NEVER look in the case while waiting for background check to go through...that can get expensive! Wait in the car! Hehe

Love those little airweight snubbies!!
Just got the mother in law a 642, and the crimson trace LG-305 laser grips as she usually can't hit a barn. Super combo...laser adjusts for windage and elevation, so you can get it spot on...and it stays there. Highly recommend. There is a clearance sale going on with one source for $149, on CT site they list $319, but Amazon usually about $220. Those little sights aren't much good past 10 yards, especially with DOA trigger, and especially dusk to dark. But that laser is bright and fun as anything to blast away with. Goes right where you want it, and fast to get back on target. It's her traveling around get-off-me-gun, and for night stand...with +P.

I won a S&W 33-1 on the 31st. I had sold some reloading and gun parts I no longer had a firearm for or a caliber for. This didn't count towards my one blatant purchase a year. That honor goes to the PC Carbine I placed an order for from Sportsman. Now if I want to buy more I have to sell things which was the agreement with the wife.
