Triple K magazines?
I've seen a couple of listings on Ebay for Triple K magazines for 3rd Gens. None that I'm currently interested in, but I've never heard of that brand of magazine before.
Has anyone ever used them? Any reports on quality?
Thanks.

Triple K and Pro-mag are in the same category, bottom of the barrel.

'nough said! Thanks to you and silverstateS&W. As it happens, I have enough factory magazines for both my 39xx compacts and my 457.

Triple K actually has SOME value on occasion as they have often made magazines that fit long long LONG out of production pistols. As an example, the First Series Colt Woodsman guns... like pre-1940.
For a modern handgun like a Smith & Wesson, I completely agree -- Mec-Gar is fine, but most of the other aftermarket companies (no finer example than Pro-Mag) are trash. Useful for planned failure drills.

The only Triple K mag I bought is for a Beretta .22, and it turns the gun into a jam-o-matic while the factory mags run fine.

Funny, I've got Promags that work just fine...
specifically the Marlin 795 25-rd mags, & when my Ballester-Molina was acting up,
only Promag 1911 mags would work in it...nothing else would...
probably because they're all slightly larger than spec
Triple K isn't horrible, they're the go-to for a few oddball mags...
The MAIN thing when using metal mags is to have a Mag Lip Adjuster Tool.
I cannot count how many mags I've rescued from the Range Trash Can,
made a simple adjustment, and they were PERFECT from then on.
Learned how to adjust mag lips due to how many dropped mags had become
useless after landing wrong...and I own a Hi-Standard...which is the reason for
the Mag Lip Tool...they even sell it from their High Standard of Houston website.
The upside of owning Hi-Standard pistols is you learn to tweak everything to wring
the most precision & reliability out of 'em...and that translates rather well to other guns!
Even Colt has been known to eff up mag manufacturing...
but a Mag Lip Adjustment Tool fixes those too!
There's only ONE magazine MFR I've never been able to fix, and that's
National Magazine brand...they're so out of spec that even lip adjustment
wont' save 'em...you've counted as lucky if they fit in the magwell and lock in place!!
Or even if the mag catch hole is in the right spot...which is about a 50-50 chance

When I read this, at first I thought you were making the Mag Lip Adjuster Tool up. Most of the ones I saw were for AR15 magazines, but there are both Beretta and High Standard tools for handguns.
I think I'll stick with the factory S&W magazines.

Got one for my second series Woodsman. Works just fine.

There are many other pistols and rifles other than S&W's out there...
I know....Heresy...
Try to find a mag for an ERMA KGP68A in 7.65-Browning, then get it &
UPS/FEDEX has beat the **** outta the package and it's mag lips are bent...
as rare as they are, yeah, you're gonna find a way to make those buggers straight again
As time goes by, 3rd Gen mags are eventually going to be as hard to locate as 10mm mags
for a Star Megastar...and as pricey. At that point, you have to make every mag work, period.
We're already seeing 1076 mags going for $60 each on Fleabay...
who in their right mind is gonna toss one for bent lips??
Thta's the trouble with the kids of today, not willing to fix problems...
they just toss 'em or pawn 'em off on someone else

$60.00 for a 10xx on Ebay is cheap!
Of course there are other brands of guns than S&W. They just aren't as well made.
It's interesting and at some point I might buy a bent lip tool. In fact, if I had one a few years ago I might have been able to salvage a couple of Pro Mags for range use in my 457.
