S&W 3914
So I read the post below & was wondering if there is any difference with a 3914 & 3914LS? (I didn't want to hijack his thread)
I am considering buying one. 2 magazines & box. I'd say good condition bc it has been shot but not abused. I can have it out the door for ~$350. Sound like a good deal?

the only difference between the two is cosmetic....the "Lady Smith" inscription on the slide and the slanted dust cover....functionality is the same.....yes it sounds like a good deal

Screaming deal. Go bring it home now.
I was thrilled to get a 3914NL (Ladysmith without the inscription) for more than $400 recently. I would have paid as much as $500 simply because I love the platform and it was a nice example. With box automatically adds $50 in my head.

Sounds like I found a deal then. I've always wanted a 3rd gen or 2nd but never wanted to venture into the $400-$500 range. I'll stop by & look at it again this week(if it's still there). If everything is just as my first impression thoughts then I'll snag it. Best photo I got of it before I left

I would say that $350 out the door for a decent condition Model 3914 with factory box and two magazines is quite good. I purchased one recently for a little more money than that... but, unfortunately, no factory box in my case.
I'm actually very pleased with it. Already own a bunch of Model 3913 pistols, but I really like the alternative look of the premium black-finished 3rd Gen. Yes, the finish is a lot more delicate than stainless, but I'm not going to carry it or otherwise abuse it. It should look this good for a long time to come.

When I got out on my own, college, etc, I promised myself I would never again eat Tuna or Hamburger Helper. Now, nearing 60, I'm proud to say I've been true to that goal. If I found a deal like this, though, and money were tight, I might have to break my promise to myself. I could live with the box lunches to finance the purchase.

Tuna's OK, I guess, with lots of Hellman;s Mayo, dill pickle relish, onion, and diced black and green olives. Tuna Helper? Ugh

Well she was still there. Walked out the door for $340. Here's a quick pick from tonight. I'll break her down & clean this weekend. Now my question is where can I find S&W magazines for it? I see tons of ProMag for sale but are those any good?

In my neck of the woods(Comifornia) you got a great deal, That's $500 to $600 before transfer fees any day of the week.
BTW, nice looking sample you have there.

Don't waste your money on the Promags, they are junk.
You can get the factory magazines on Midway, they frequently go on sale there for approximately $25.00

That's an early pistol and was subject to the grip recall - make sure the grip has a dimple on the bottom. If not, S&W owes you an updated grip.
It looks like a previous owner mixed up their paperwork.

The 3914 was cataloged from 1990-96. The SCSW shows TEE and TEH prefixes as being made in 1989. I'd guess that yours was a late 1989 or early 1990 gun.

That is one smoking deal! I was very happy to just pay $450 for the same gun in NL without box or docs and not in 99% condition as that looks to be.
That is a $600 gun all day long whether sold here or on the big auction sites.

Finally got a chance to shoot the newly acquired 3rd gen. Man, I've always wanted one but after shooting this one I definitely want more. I carried my XDs9 & shot them back to back. Wow what a difference. I have a PRP trigger in the XDs but the stock Smith was so nice. Guess I've had the KoolAid, time for more..

I parted with my XD-9 many moons ago and never looked back. Nothing made today does anything S&W was doing 30 years ago.

WHAT A DEAL!
Back when I was in the market foe a 3913, all I could find was a CS45.
Now I've got the XDs45, and am really happy with it.
I'd still be happy to find a 3914 like the OP got, tho.
