CS40 trigger question
I recently acquired a Smith and Wesson CS40 and had a question about the trigger. In double action it is a smooth pull although a little on the heavy side. In single action there is a very noticeable click about half way through the pull. It almost resembles a reset click but more distinctive. Is this normal for this firearm or is it something I should check out? I have quite a few Smiths in my collection and none of them have this issue. Also is there any way to correct it via polishing or changing out a part even though parts are very hard to come by. Thanks in advance, Brandon

Search the forum for "trigger play spring" - it's a fairly common issue.

I did just that and after finding a video on also tearing down these gen 3 firearms to the frame I tore mine down and gave it a good cleaning and polished up a few different parts. Lubed everything up with CLP and then reassembled it. Then adjusted the trigger play spring. All clicking is now gone. Now I can say this is an awesome little shooter. I will be ordering a set of KSD grips for it and getting a custom kydex IWB holster for it from Darwin Defense.

Sorry almost forgot to post pics of my new baby. Also took a pic while taking it down to the frame. I got it with the original box, manual, lock still in the plastic, and both magazines. Serial number: EKY8036. I think looking at the label on the side of the case its a 2000 model.

Welcome to the forum!
I love my CS40/45. It was my first S&W Semi-auto.
There's a lot you can do with them.

Good for you for fixing your own pistol.
The claw hammer is a nice touch.

Just thought yall would want to me my CS40 with her new grips from KSD and my new IWB kydex holster from Darwin Defense. The holster was designed for the CS45 but fits perfectly with the CS40.
