First let me say that I love the CZ 75 full size pistol as a target gun/ home defense. They are all metal and were designed and brought into production 1975. Of course the 915 (value series model of the 5904) doesn't need much introduction. Both are full size DA/SA high capacity mag pistols.
I took both if these to the range the other day. In a head to head shoot off I was surprised that I did just as well with the 915 as I did with the CZ. For those not familiar the CZ 75 and its many variants, they are one of the most popular guns used in target pistol competitions. USPSA and IDPA Production class.
My CZ 75BD is a stock gun as is the 915 I bought recently. There is no doubt IMO anyway that the 3rd gen triggers are not the best in SA. They are less than terrible but nothing I would pick for a target pistol. Anyway without the targets to back me up I shot just as well with the 915 as I did with the CZ. The CZs SA stock trigger is definitely smoother at 5#. The 915 is mushy and broke on my gauge at 6.5.
My conclusion is that the 915/ 5904 at $250 is a fine gun and can hold it's on against a stock CZ75 BD at least in my hands.
