Default Correct mag for early 39

I recently picked up mod-39, 5408, shipped July 1958.
It came with a late 39-2 plastic follower mag, with the short
butt plate, S&W stamped. Although it functions perfectly, it
just does not look right and it bugs me. Im thinking the gun shipped with a flat follower mag with the long butt plate and dual stamped. Or an early figure 8 follower or maybe even the cut out military mag? What do you think?

My bet would be the military mag.

Early figure 8 follower would be my choice.

thanks for your input, I have a Sept. 1958 and Dec.1958 two page green parts lists. They both show the figure eight and the military cut out mag. body. So, either one would have shipped with the gun? I think. Mike
