Alternative grips for CS-9s
Had enough of the factory grips.
You wise folk have any contacts with those who craft better ones.
Thanks in advance !.

I recommend TercGen grips for your CS9. TercGen is a member here and a search will get you the info you need to order.

There's also KSD Grips. They appear to be fantastic if you want to switch to wood.

Another vote for TercGen grips. I have them on my CS9s and CS45. The guns should have come from the factory with them IMO.
Were it not for TercGen grips I would have sold the CS45. It did nothing better than my other carry 45s. Now its in my daily safe and carried quite a bit.
Not only is TercGen a talented craftsman, he is a hell of a nice fellow too! Regards 18DAI

I have small hands and short fingers so the factory grips were uncomfortable for me. Bought the KSD wood grips and they are better. I've never felt the TercGen grips, but I bet they would feel better for me.

KSD grips look very nice but TercGen made me a set of grips and I love them. I 100% agree that they should have come from the factory like that.

I might be the only person in America who actually likes the OEM grips. TercGen grips are nice, but then I'd have to put one of the Pachmyar grip gloves on them to make them less slippery.
I was talking with the KSD people a couple of years ago about grips for my pre rail 3913TSW. After sending them a pair of the OEM grips to use as a pattern, I never heard another word from them. For that reason, I'm leery of doing business with them.

You've really only got the two aftermarket options with Chiefs Specials grips - the KSD wood ones, or modified Delrin grips.
KSD wood grips look very nice (as do most wood grips, IMO) and many people find them to be comfortable in hand, but they don't appear to be much slimmer than the factory Hogue rubbers, if that's a concern.
The modified Delrin grips will be slimmer by far, and make the CS9 truly feel like a sub-compact version of the 908/3913. I, of course, prefer the modified Delrins on all of the Chiefs Specials. Many folks have made their own set and there's multiple threads out there detailing their processes and results. If you want someone else to make a set for you, then I can help you out with that, and I'll email you some specifics, grcoffman104.

I say this about a bunch of my opinions too! I had S&W Magna stocks on revolvers. I hate "three t's" and especially a cheese grater double-wide target trigger, yuck. I hate USGI steel ammo cans and the fake GI ammo cans that gun folks cannot ever get enough of!
BUT!
You are right! You are the only guy who likes the Chief's Special OEM Goodyear Blimps.
"Let's make the smallest 3rd Gen we have ever made, obviously a stubby single stack... and let's put six pounds of fat rubber tire on them!"
We should call CS-9's the Mickey Thompson Edition !

You are not the only guy in America who likes those factory grips. Me too. They fit my hand perfectly, I don't have to buy Talons or skate tape for a sure grip, and I'm perfectly comfortable carrying IWB with 'em. Plus after investing in a bunch of smithing to smooth out the slide and trigger, then adding the cost of the TercGen grips woul have put me over-budget on this particular gun. Especially as there's nothing "wrong" for with with OEM.

I like how the rubber grips feel.
I don't like how the rubber grips conceal.

My rubber ones are beginning to degrade. Central Texas heat, my body chemistry, or unknown. TercGen is gonna fix me up!

I have a few of the KSD grips. They're well made, feel good and are great for show. Issue I had with both pair I bought is that they have a little fore & aft wiggle to them even when socked down tight. The grip pivots on the anchoring screws down below, and there's just enough loose fit up top to allow that to happen. Aggravating as heck and it was quite a challenge using epoxy to get the top fit rock solid and eliminate all movement. I suspect the configuration of the grip frame of the CS line is a bit of a challenge for gripmakers to fit.
The modified delrin grips from TercGen are for me the only way to go. Absolutely no shifting at all. Slim. No contest if the desire is CCW. My 2nd set is enroute - and turnaround time is faster than CA makes me wait to deliver the CS9 into my hands. Top notch fellow to deal with too.
