Nothing fancy, but the grips on my pre rail 3913TSW were starting to look a bit worn.
So, I went down to my box of random stuff an pulled out a set that I bought from Numrich some time back.
I took off the old grips and tried to put the new ones on. Nope, for some reason, they wouldn't line up right. If I got them where they "should" have been, the left grip panel covered the magazine release. Moved them a bit, and now they grip pin holes wouldn't line up.
I figured that they had warped some time while in storage either in my home or at Numrich. Either way, they wouldn't fit. I put the old grips (without a hitch) and decided to order a new set from Numrich. Note that it's way to long since I ordered the first set to return them.
Found them, ordered them, and then got a notice that the Governor of New York in his infinite wisdom had decreed that they were not "essential." They'd let me know when they were shipping.
Anyway, they came in the mail yesterday. So, I took the old grips off again, put the new ones on and they fit perfectly.
Being curious, I decided to try the first set of grips, the "defective ones". They fit too.
WTH? I spent about half an hour the first time and could not get them to fit. This time, they slipped right on.
Gremlins, I guess.
Anyway, I have a lifetime supply of 3913/3953TSW pre rail grips.
