I have a 3906 I’m thinking of parting with, and have a possible trade On the horizon.
It’s one of the fixed sight (non Novak) models. Currently wearing trijicon night sights.
The other party says he estimates the value of The 3906 at 450-500. That seems a bit on the low end, but these are rare enough that I can’t find many listed recent sales to use for reference.
Also, what’s the going rate for unopened 3906 mags?
I know asking for gun values on a forum can be a “faux pas“, but I don’t want to get hosed.

In today's market, $450-500 is low. I'd want at least $700 for one in LNIB condition with box, docs, and tools. Condition is everything so you might have to adjust accordingly.

Personally, I favor the fixed sight version versus one with adjustable sights so I would assign a greater value to your gun than one with adjustables.

New 3906 mags in package have got to be worth $75.

How about some pics?

Check GB Completed Items - Last Month shows 3 3906 sales: $440, $655, $1295 - last one LNIB. Also shows 1 3904 $599.
As for SW Mags unopened - 1 sold at $40, 1 listed at $55 did not sell.

Thanks, I was trying to view this last night, but you need a membership.
He must have seen that $440 sale, or there was a scam listing posted on armslist recently for $400 I think.

I should have been more clear, I don’t have the original box or tools, just the gun itself, in very good condition. 7 magazines, 4 never opened.
Upgraded and original plastic grips, Trijicon and original sights, and an extra firing pin (for fear of microstamping Being passed when I lived in NY)

The one at $440 was in fair to good condition with one magazine as I recall. The $1295 I can't explain - maybe 2 bidders went crazy. Pictures would help in valuation, but the $600-650 range looks realistic with a couple of mags but no box. 5 extra mags - add AT LEAST $200 and sights add too. I would guess $800 +/- $50 unless you really want to move it fast.

3906 is scarce and difficult to find for sure. But perhaps due to the 3904, 909 and 952... the magazines are really not all too scarce.

When you say that you have “unopened” 3906 magazines, that could possibly mean a couple different things. If you have the old school blister pack on cardboard, those are older and simply put, they are collectible. These old ones on the cardboard could be the older early 8-round or the 9-round mags.

The newer magazine package is the one with the blue label wrapped around a clear plastic “casket” for lack of the correct term.

The magazines have value but let’s not pretend these are like 52 mags, 10mm mags or 2213/2214 mags.

Of the three 3906 variants I am aware of, the fixed Novak one is likely the most desired, with the early 2nd Gen fixed sight next and the adjustable sight third, but these are certainly scarce pistols.

Dang I want to kick myself. My brother ran across one for $425 a few months back at a pawn shop. I wasn't real interested in a full size single stack at the time. I have since decided I would like to have it. He went back and checked and it was gone. I believe they would have let me have it even cheaper, been buying from that guy for about decades.

Just last year Midway still had 3906 mags in stock. I bought one for my 3913 for $33 I think it was. Seems they have been out of stock the last few times I checked.
