5906 IDPA guide rod/ lasermax question

Just picked up the latest addition to my 3rd gen collection, a PC 5906 IDPA model. The pistol has a Lasermax guide rod laser installed that actually still works if you can believe it. I'm not a big laser fan and am considering swapping it for a factory guide rod/spring/slide stop. Will the parts from a standard 59 series pistol work? Any input would be appreciated.

Standard steel, not aluminum, guide rod is what they came with. On those guns the slide stop is a fitted piece. I changed a 6906pc and it took me 2-3, before I found one that fit snug but still went in. They are great guns.
