I bought my, so far, only gun in 2007 in West Springfield, Massachusetts: a 910. I liked the 92FS more, but it was on the order of $250 more than my used 910. Since I didn't know how I'd like having a gun, I figured I might as well go less expensive. I got training at the S&W range. Hey, buy local!

Since then, I've used it at ranges only. I had the most fun at the Albuquerque public range from 2010 until 2014, when I moved to California. I didn't dare do anything with it while in California. Now I'm in Colorado, in the Denver area (Littleton) and still haven't done anything with it. I'm kind of looking for a decent range to join. Any recommendations?

Anyway, I understand that the 910 is effectively a Glock-ified 915 with a stop in the included magazines to limit it to 10 rounds. I picked up a couple of 5906 15-round magazines for it, with which it works fine. Is there any functional difference?

With regard to the mags, there should be no functional difference. The 910 was a bit of an orphan in the series... the 915 slide will interchange with that of the higher priced 590X and others, while the 910 has a different rail configuration and set of locking lugs. If all you want to do is shoot the one gun and add a couple of full capacity mags to it, you should be fine with that 910. BTW, they called them the “Value Series” because they were offered at a lower price than the higher grade pistols, but they were just as durable... no problem there!

.....and you can upgrade your 910 with metal parts from many of the other 5900 series pistols. You can get a metal guide rod, metal mag release parts from numrich, brownells, midwayusa and others.

The Firing Line in Aurora is a nice range. It's on S. Potomac between Alameda and 6th, right off I-225.
There's also the Centennial Gun Club over there off Arapahoe Road in Greenwood Village-Centennial. I don't know much about them.
I think those might be your only range choices these days.
