Second and Third Cousins
These are my two........I do love them even though they are close relatives. The 459 was picked up LNIB and the 5906 was a LE turn in that I cleaned up and installed new grips. Any leads on where to find some nice wood grips for the 459?

What process did you use to clean up your 5906?

MP40, CS9, Shield40 and Shield9 w/LaserMax. I have another Shield 9 with I-Dot NS on it (primary carry), but showing another Shield would be redundant. Redundant.

I'm in. Here's Windsucker - a PC Shorty Forty - and Phalanx, an often carried, seldom fired 5904.

First one was a 6906 that I love to carry. Then I picked up a cs9 in black and a black 469 that I will have to send in for recall. And today I invested in another cs9 stainless with less than 100 rds. through it lnib.

The only S&W semi-auto I own to date... the little BG380 (don't laugh). To be (hopefully) joined by a M&P .40 and/or M&P Shield 9mm in the not too distant future.

[QUOTE=cremaley;136779887]My new Smith and Wesson 1911 SC Bi-Tone 45. Probably the best looking 1911 45 I have ever owned. Performs flawlessly and very accurate.
I bought that gun this month...quickly replacing all as my fav. Hope to shoot it soon. Waiting on shoulder rehab before I range it. I'll CCW this gun or my J frame .38 when I want something smaller. Have you considered Laser sights? CT has one LG907 I think will fit but no one has them in stock now.

Trade-in found at Cabela's. Grips aren't bad but can be easily replaced and slide could use just a little
Scotchbrite love. The frame though is the first place I look on an alloy framed Smith - there aren't cheap
and easy fixes like the first two indicated. The frame on this baby is almost perfect. I did pay a bit too
much for a DAO Smith but perhaps that's how things are now.
I am curious though about the numbering on 6946s - shouldn't they be 5953s? It's really off no matter
what you use to decipher it.

Do you mean that I should advise in a for sale ad that I Scotchbrited the slide IF I choose to sell it down the road?
I haven't touched it at this point as I can't find my Scotchbrite pads and Brownell's is out of 6906 grips. If I do decide to Scotchbrite the slide I'll barely have to touch it, there are just a couple small scuffs/scratches in the "finish" and I mean SMALL.
*Added: Pistol is marked "FRPD 80" on the right side of the dust cover. Contacted the Fall River, MA, Police Department and it sounds like this came from them. Individual I spoke with on the phone indicated they traded them in last year for .40s. The local Cabela's did have 3 or 4 more however they were much rougher than this one.*

I've had this 659 since '81 and put many thousand rounds through it. Always a favorite shooter for the whole family. Does a M&P22 count ? It's made by Walther for S&W....
