They keep pulling me in ……. 6906 from Sportsman’s
I thought I was done with the rusty gun parade at Sportsman’s Warehouse, but they found this one lurking in the back and just put it out.
Its got a couple of pimples and the magazine is rusty, but it should clean up ok and I have accumulated mags over the years.
With my GI Joe discount and 3.92 in store bucks it came to $252. That’s hard to beat.
Are the blue hammer and trigger right?

You did very well with this one.
Have you hired an engineer to look at the structure under your home lately? The stress on your floors has to be huge.

That’s a really good price! With a little TLC it’ll be a keeper.
It looks to be a later 6906 with MIM hammer and trigger, no worries there!

I would have jumped on that one also . I'd send it off to guzzitaco and have him work his magic on it if it was mine . It would come back as a beautiful carry piece .

At $252, I probably would have been a buyer, too. The hammer and trigger are normal for later production guns. The mag appears to be aftermarket. But since you said you already have some, no harm there. I’d say a pretty fair buy.
These guns were never target pistols, even a good example on a good day, but I have been told the later ones are consistently better shooters than the older ones. Let us know what you think. I have one with the black parts and I do not see that it is a substantially better shooter than the earlier one I replaced with it. Both were/are good “mediocre” shooters.

From my SC CPL class last year with a 6946. Various ranges up to about 45 feet IIRC.
Harumph.

That's not an OEM mag for that model. They are a bit hard to find these days, but mags are out there.

Great buy at $252, congratulations ! I love my 6946 DAO, and like your picture shows, it's a great shooter (trigger is smooth), with the Novak and Hogue combo. Was considering using it for idpa, as I have 6 mags for it (2 15 rds that are actually my 5904 mags, and 2 from my 469) and the 2 that came with it. Nice to have the interchangeability. Anybody else use these 3 for IDPA or competition, and what is your experience?

Harumph, huh? Well, there are “good shooters” and then there are “good shooters.” Depends on who’s making the judgment. (And likely who’s doing the shooting, too.)
I’ve only owned two 6906s. I could always shoot 3913s better. Ok, “probably the jerk on the trigger,” you’ll say. Well, maybe. But I know other shooters with similar experiences, and in every case the 3913s win. I didn’t say so, but that was my point. I don’t think there’s any doubt that 6906s are perfectly adequate in the accuracy department. I know, it’s not intended to be a target pistol.
