I am new to this forum, I just bought a SW40VE and am looking for an inexpensive holster for open carry while out prospecting.

I use a Bianchi Accumold for OWB carry with my SW40GVE. I have had pretty good luck with it and they are reasonably priced (around $25 as I recall).

Recommend a fitted holster as opposed to a "generic" holster. Be absolutely sure the trigger is covered in the holster.

The Fobus HK1 holster will fit.

Don Hume makes quality low cost leather holsters.

I also would suggest a fitted holster. It will cost a little more but it will be secure. Kydex is less expensive and might hold up under wet or sweaty conditions as it will not absorb any moisture. Also sand and dirt will not trap or stick as easy.

I bought a JAK Slide clone for my Sigma that allows me to carry IWB or OWB Left or Right side. I have a Fobus that I use as my range holster It clicks and stays put I also use it on the farm.

I like the Fobus HK1 also, plus their no "B.S."
lifetime warranty. I use the belt model, but a lot of guys prefer the paddle version.

Ditto on the Fobus HK-1. Paddle or belt-slide.

I carry the SW40VE (as in my avitar) Tryed Uncle Mikes--it works Fobus HK1 works real well and is pretty comfortable for an inexpensive holster. you still need to get what you like and feels the best to you. Hey have a blast no matter what

I found a tip on this forum a couple of years ago. Check Wal-Mart for the Crossman Airsoft holster. They are a $5 nylon holster with a buckle and snap strap and a extra mag pocket. My 40VE fits perfectly and it is as well made as any other nylon holster I have seen. I saw a guy buy two of them used at a pawn shop for $25 and he said he likes to mount them on his gun safe door for storage.

I've been using a mil-tec..
About like this one..
http://www.cabelas.com/prod-1/0059520221855a.shtml
I got mine from a friend, and I'm not sure
which exact size/model I have as far as the
pistol it was designed for.
But the one I have fits the 40ve perfect.
Fully covers the trigger, has a strap, and
also an extra mag pocket. Nice snug fit.
One thing I like about the mil-tec is that it
is soft inside. No worries about scuffing up a
pistol with it rubbing on a harder rubber
surface.
I have the matching gun belt for it.
I carry it most all the time when I tromping
around my dirt pile.
