Stopped by a local shop today and they had 2 used 4567's. They both have some holster wear but the one I put on hold was a lot cleaner. The other had a significant spot on the top of the slide. It looked like a worm had crawled on the top of it and ate the blue off in a line. Kind of a wierd mark, but anyway. They had both priced for $395. Two questions here, first, if the gun has a blued slide and stainless steel body then is it the 4567-NS, or just simply a 4567. I figured that either way it was a great buy. Second question, is it better to live with the holster wear or get it reblued. The guy at the shop talked about a "cold blued" process as if this wasn't bad for the value of the gun, but that doesn't sound right to me. I will post some pics soon.

I believe all the 4567s' did come with night sights originally. I have had the slides reblued before and as long as there wasn't any pitting that required them to be heavily buffed they came out like new. If you do get it reblued it would be a good time to replace the night sights.

Do you think it messes with the "original" value of the gun?

If it done right and not in need of heavy buffing pryer to rebluing, it would be hard to tell it was ever done. Value is aways subjective, but the 4567 is probably not going to fall in the same class as say SAA Colts.

There must have been a local PD that issued 4567's, because Gallenson's always has one or two for sale. Last time I was in they had three. I was tempted but exhibited unusually strong willpower that day.
