Hi Ollie,

I can think of two options

1) get an optima/tasco mount, about $20 online. You will have to do some milling on the top of the mount, you could make it work.

I had to do something similar on a recon 45 and on a M745

The rear sight piece for the M457 is the same as the others 3rd gens. This mount only works with shield pattern (or modified shield) So, SIG Romeo Zero, Holosun 407K, Holosun 507K or Holosun EGW.

I believe this would be the cheapest route.

2) You could get a mount from EGW. They run about $50. They have different options for different red dots. I prefer the optima/tasco mount.

Sorry for the late reply...

Hope this helps

Guzzi

We chatted back on the 6th and were texting this past Wednesday.
He's starting with a new employer. I think he might be on the road.
If not, he's cursing that disagreeable 5926 he's got on the bench.

Cheers
Bill

Hi Froggie...

All fine in South, FL...got a new job

the good: don't have to drive to the port 1 1/2 hours each way...

the not so good: traveling a lot to other places...

On the 3rd gen news: working on a M5926. Looks nice, need to find a way to put if back together without scratching something on the frame...

Also,
Finished a TSW 4513 with a "shorty 45" style slide...will post about that one when I get a chance...

PS: I've been carrying it lately...love it.

Good to hear from you, my friend. I have to admit I’ve been away from my autopistols of late, but I keep trying to get the time and energy to get back to them, if only to finish the current iteration iof my FrankenSmith.

Good luck with your new job... I still prefer retirement!

Seeing as it was my 45Recon and 745 , I thought I'd weigh in . If I was you , I'd send it off to Guzzi , he did a beautiful job on both of them . Of course he's done quite a few projects for me , he's a craftsman and the job has to be done to the utmost of his abilities . There's only 2 people I let touch my guns , Bill and Guzzi .
