Complimentary Cleaning Coupons ?
How long was this a 'thing' included with new S&W toys?

Very interesting! I did not know this was ever offered but I see the date on there says 1998. I would have guessed much older.

Perhaps showing my age (or recollection), but I do remember the "cleaning coupons", but I don't recall anyone availing themselves of that option.

Who is going to ship their gun back to the factory, of course paying for the shipping, just for a cleaning?
But I do remember this being offered. I never did it though. I clean my own guns.

A friend bought a Kershaw knife and was disappointed that it got dull. So he sent it back to Kershaw for sharpening but it got dull again. He decided that it wasn't worth having a pocket knife. He was baffled by my suggestion that he just sharpen it himself. Heck, my EDC knife gets sharpened at least once a week.

I think I remember getting one with my 5906 that was shipped in '98. I probably still have it in the box.

S&W sent those when you filled out and returned the blue warranty cards.

A nice touch and a collectible conversation piece. Something I've not run across until now.

I wonder if they will still honor it.

Kershaw is about 5 miles from me and they'll do it while you wait, if they have time. I still sharpen my own.
