Default Value of M41

I have the opportunity to buy from a private collection a M41 serial # a6570xx for $1000. Should I spring for this? Thanks for your input.

The SN indicates 1981 manufacture. Like any firearm, condition dictates value. The new in box value is around $1400 or so, and one in excellent condition, gun only is probably $900 or so. Send a few pictures and someone here can give you a reasonable value.

I gave $1200 for mine a couple of years ago, which dates to 1985. It had very few rounds through it, got the box papers and cleaning accessories with it, looked brand new. I put a different set of grips on it. It is a fine shooting pistol and has an exceptional trigger. It is a bit sensitive to ammo, it functions better on something around 1260 fps or faster and is more accurate than my Ruger MkIII Hunter.

Do it if it looks clean. Nice way to get one.

I've seen more than a few of these at shows over the years and not one has been priced as low as $1K. They are great guns.

If you think you paid too much for a gun, Just wait a few years. It’ll seem like a bargain.

You did not state what comes with the gun. Box, papers, tools, VCI wrapping paper, how many magazines, etc? You also did also not state what the condition is. These are the factors that determine the price. Without the details, no one can really say.

Found mine at a mile down the road moving sale. A fine pistol. Might not have bought all those Woodsmans if I’d found it years sooner.

I bought a new 7" Model 41 a year or so ago and put the same aftermarket stocks on it as you have on yours. Recently, I bought a set of originals that look exactly like the ones in your first photo and have them on it now. Coincidences are weird...
