M&P 2.0 .45 with “new” trigger
I just picked this up, and the trigger is the same as on the new 2.0 series, which I like a lot. However… This particular one is gritty. In fact, it’s a whole new level of gritty that I have never before encountered. It’s like dragging a brick along a cracked, broken sidewalk. I haven’t fired it yet, so I hope it smooths out on its own, but I doubt it. I think it’s the striker block, since the trigger is smooth when you take the slide off. Sigh. It’s fixable without sending it in, but I think I’m done buying new guns.

Congratulations on new pistol maybe it will smooth out after couple hundred rounds. I sold my 1911 and have bunch .45 ammo for sale but no one is buying , considering a M&P .45 or other to shoot it up

That’s exactly my situation. I love .45 ACP, but I have other calibers I’m relying on.

I put a hundred rounds of Federal FMJ through it today. It's very accurate, makes decent groups for a first time out. The mags wouldn't load all 10 rounds at first, but one loosened up enough. I'm storing them with 9 so the springs will relax a little. Some trouble feeding the last round a couple times, but that stopped after a couple mags.
The grittiness probably comes from the contact surface of the striker block plunger (if that's the right name for the plunger in the slide). It's "textured." It will be polished.

Strange...
The M&P 45 M2.0 Threaded Barrel Optics Ready Full Size is the only 45 with the new trigger, according to the S&W website. Is that what you have?
I emailed S&W a few months ago asking if they had a plan to update the trigger on the 45 line and they said no. I was disappointed...

Remove the striker block sand off any burrs and chuck gently in a drill and polish with metal polish. Inspect channel for any burrs and use rolled emery to polish them out.

A few hundred rounds, and the trigger still sucks, but it groups tight when I do my part, so there’s that.

I did this and it helped. I also smoothed out machining marks on the trigger bar where it contacts the plunger, and it helped even more. It's vastly improved for dry-fire at this point.

With live fire, it’s acceptable now. But I still can only cram nine rounds in the ten round mags. Of the four mags I have, only one can take ten rounds. I feel like I should have bought a used 1.0 and put in an Apex kit.

I must be the odd man out. When I buy a new handgun revolver 0r semi-auto. I thoroughly check it it out before putting my $$$ down, If it doesn't measure up . It stays at the store and my $$ stays in my pocket. That way I don't have to come here and whine about it. Lots of post here like this.

Have you tried a mag loader? They give you more leverage. Also, do a search on modifying the followers. Somebody posted a how to. I think it was basically round the bottom edges or somthing.. I haven't had a problem using a maglula.

I can sympathize as a Vegas resident. Those that have never lived at the far end of the supply line cannot get their heads around the concepts of limited availability and lack of choice. It's a way of life for everything out here.

I can get ten rounds in my M&P45 magazines with a mag loader and carry the gun that way plus one in the chamber. My reload magazine has nine rounds in it; trying to seat one with ten rounds in a hurry is too iffy.
