Default 6in Target Champion

Picked this up from another member a while ago . Skjos wrote about these back in 2012 in his 5906 Super 9 information thread . I also have a 5in Target Champion along with a 40 Limited that made the trip across the Atlantic and back . I was told there were only 5 that made this trip , waiting on a letter to see if it's true or not .

I had one of these. Mine was sold in the U.S. never made it to Europe. Had a WIS serial number. I had the receipt showing originally sold in the U.S. My favorite S&W piece.
Let me edit the above. I had a 6 inch 952 Masterpiece. Sorta Similar gun but single stack.

Have you shown a previous picture of the .40 Limited? I would love to look at the factory letter if that’s what you requested. I don’t think there is much information out there at all regarding the 4006 Limited pistols.

Very, very nice guns!

My 5 and 6 inch Target Champion 's have easily stolen my heart away from the rest of the gen 3's. I haven't had the time to really dial in the 6inch gun but I have just over 2100 rounds through the 5inch gun and it's a breeze to shoot at 50 yards with federal 115gr fmj. I also made my first hits at 100yards off hand this past Saturday . I was smiling ear to ear.

If you ask me, you have the holy grails of 9mm guns, and the holy grail of full size .40. I am not a 9mm guy by any means, but I would sell a kidney for that 5 inch with the squared muzzle. I'm glad that at least some of them have good homes with those on the forum.

I think the holy grail is the PPC 9 with the 3 barrels . At least I think that's the one . I'm waiting on a 5in .356 barrel to have fitted to my 5in TC . Then it can rest beside my .356 Limited and the 4in . The good friend I got the 4in .356 had sent it back to the old PC shop and had a 9mm barrel fitted to it so I'm good there . Sevens got me started on these more than a few years ago , so I blame it on him when the wife says anything .

Hold up there pal! I never sent any PC guns your direction. Well… a 52-2 almost counts as a PC gun.

The pistol with the 3 barrels is a Super 9. Extremely nice pistol, but technically NOT a PC gun. Does not have the Briley titanium spherical bushing. Very cool pistol and occupies a very odd place in the lineup.

Just looked at your 4006 Limited pictures… your pistol is about 25 numbers higher/later than mine. Pretty neat that yours took the long way back home.

True , never no PC guns . But you got me into the semi auto's , was a 639 if I remember right . I still have the 52-2 and the 639 , they hold a special place in the indoor safe .

I recently picked up a Lew Horton Super 9, 1 of 40 made for US distribution & shipped with only the 9mm barrel. Like Sevens noted, not a PC gun but definitely a fine target pistol!
