Default Another beautiful piece of work by Guzzi Taco!

I have been following Guzzi Taco’s work that he has posted on the forum, and wanted to send him a gun to see if could do the magic on a S&W that had seen better days. I was able to get an Israeli Surplus S&W 5926 that was beat to hell, and what he did to my gun was short a miracle! Today I got the 5926 back, a he transformed the gun that was in poor shape to look like it came off factory floor. To say that I am thrilled is beyond words. I will post some pictures of the gun he sent me (he has better camera skills than I do) but if he wants to post pictures of how it was before he performed his magic I hope he does so. Great communication and a very pleasant and humble human being. So glad I am part of this community!

It looks like he did his usual stellar work . I've known Guzzi before he started his gunsmithing gig , I sold him a 457 and we met face to face . Then he wanted a gun to try out his talents so I sent him a 457 which needed some TLC . Now this was before he bought any power tools , everything was done by hand . If you do a search , he did a lengthy post about all he did . I'm the proud owner of his first S&W done for a forum member .

Seeing as this post is about a 5900 series piece , I'll show some pictures of a 5906 he did for me . It wasn't real bad , but it wasn't anything I would share with anybody . I don't think I ever shot it . Anyways , off it went to The Man . He did his usual work , but I had him add in his "PC" cuts . He also added an adjustable rear sight . I think this is what 5906's should have looked like from the start .

Very nice work! Were there any import marks taken off? I know a bunch online had them under the dustcover.

Thank go Veeklog1 for the kind words...!!! and for the opportunity to work on your gun...

(also Thank you Cherrypointmarine for the nice comments)

This was a fun project...I'm sorry it took so long...I was in-between jobs, had to travel a lot and got ill...

To answer some questions:

1) Was this gun re-called? Well, we contacted S&W and NO this gun was not in the recall. Nevertheless, we bought the new (and improved) side plate and installed it.

2) Where are the import marks? Under the trigger guard. They weren't removed.

3) How about those grips? Well, those grips are sold online as the "proper replacement" of the M5926 original grips...aghhh...not so much...I wasn't really happy with the fitment so, I did some dremeling and the cut an old pair of grips and did some plastic welding and epoxy. To me it was important to make sure the proper contact points were taking place and they are NOT the same as with the M5906. I did a TON of testing, and I am happy with the results...

Finally, I want to thank BMCM for all his help. I was stuck on properly re-assembling the pistol, specially without scratching it. Thanks a lot Bill for all your help and guidance.

Hope this helps,

Guzzi

That looks so SD-9 or 5” PPC9 like. Thanks for sharing, (both of you.)

I’d really like to see more of the work guzzitaco has done on other pistols. I even hinted that it would be a fun post. I feel very fortunate to have had him do his magic on one of mine.

The import marks were under the trigger guard on this one. But Guzzi did such a great job when he finished the gun you can barely see them anymore.

I agree that the moderators for this forum should set up a picture Tab to post pictures of the work Guzzi and BMCM have completed and done. It would be so awesome to share those pictures of completed work for customers. Thanks to this forum I have a new found love for S&W 3rd Generation pictures. But if you want to see more of Guzzi’s competed work follow him on Instagram under “S7 Custom.” Man, i drool at some of the work he has completed; I am sending a 4006 I got cheap on some of customers work

Well I suppose “someone” needs to start a new post about the pistols that they had customized by guzzitaco.

I don’t do Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook or whatever else there is. That’s just me though.
