SW4006 TSW's from Bucket list to Bought list
Glad to have a couple TSW's added to my collection before the prices blow up any more. I bought the TSW's from 2 different GB dealers. The first was the 4046TSW with the bolt on rail. Wasn't really interested in that model but the price was too good...no bidders and was right around $400 shipped. The 4006TSW CHP was also from a GB dealer who took $100.00 off and let me lay away and make payments for a few months until it was mine. They both function flawlessly and I am very glad to have the CHP as it was a bucket list item for me...the discount didn't hurt either. I am asking if any of you pros have an idea on year of make on these ? Thanks in advance ... 3rd gen friend

I keep thinking that I should buy at least one .40 caliber 3rd Gen, but I just don't want to have to support another caliber.
So far it's 22LR, 22WMR. 9mm, 38Spcl, and .45ACP. That's just handguns!
I think I'll let you Forty Folks get all the bargains.

The only complaint is my poor eyesight , getting old is not for sissies . I sent my slide to BMCM and he put an LPA on the rear . Then a red front sight and now it'll plant them where I want them to .

I hoe that you safely enjoy your 40. They were almost giving away minty 4006 TSW CHP trade Ins a few years back. This one was NIB and too cheap to pass up.

They made 154 Mod 4054 DAO .40's, guess not to popular. Wonder how many other odd models with low production numbers are out there. Now is probably a good time to look with interst growing on 3rd gen pistols.

I didn't want 40 cal either, but I bought a SW99 in 9mm and in the box was an extra .40 cal barrel..."can opened worms everywhere" as another member quotes ha ha. I do like the history of .40 cal and the round...thanks for leaving the bargains to the rest of us ha ha !! 3rd gen friend

the serial # is very cool to me...the dealer that sold it to me let me switch my purchase from another s/n to the all 7's # when I saw it in his "other items". It really shoots fantastic and other than the worn/scratched grip, it's in beautiful shape.

Did yours come with the soft rubber grips, they look nice and fresh... Are they Hogue grips?

Thanks for the info...I really love the SWDAO triggers (I do have 2 4046's cuz I couldn't resist the price and mint condition, and thought it would be cool to have a gorgeous chunk of Stainless steel on each hip / one is meant for my adult son once he gets his LTC) ...will a conversion to TDA make the trigger even better? thanks for the info Heymatt !

Other than the CS 9, 40, 45 which are sub compact, the 4013 is a great shooter also...heck I love all the 3.5"barrel models of SW Semis. I have the 669 469 6906 also 3.5. I have found that many dealers, if you call the stores and speak with owners, will do a layaway plan, negotiate price, terms, and options, and are very helpful.

Hey garys, Thanks for leaving us more .40's to buy, sure our wives/significant others are thrilled ha ha !
As of now, 5-13-24, there is a 4006 regular on GB now for $500.00 and looks nice...just in case you change your mind on .40 caliber round pistols...I have one already otherwise it would be mine ha ha ! It is a piece of S&W History that was designed for the .40 cal S&W designed round...now you're tempted ?

I was eyeballing a 4013TSW with rail posted on a different forum. Gun and four 9 round magazines only. Wanted way more than I would pay, plus it would require transfer and shipping on top.
I'll stick with my 9mm guns and my two 457s.

Nice pistols. For the CHP model I would estimate around 2007/2008. For the BAYXXXX serial number I would estimate around 2004/2005.

Well, from one Cape Codder (East Sandwich) temporarily sentenced to California, to another -

I have to admit, kind of forgot I had it until I read the thread. Kind of tough to find in CA.

Hello dsf, That looks like it's in great condition, thanks for posting.
I was just in Sandwich last night, Jan Sebastian drive where my band rehearses. Seems like you moved from one awful 2A state to an even worse 2A state. Thanks for chiming in !
