Can't say I ever heard of that. Is the script similar to what S&W uses or different? Could signify aftermarket work by a shop!

It is possible that I missed something, but sounds to me like some idiot screwed with the gun aftermarket. Stay away from it, unless the selling price is so low you can afford to send it back to S&W for complete refit with correct parts. No doubt someone tried to "improve" it which may have made it unsafe. Take what you would pay for a used pistol in original condition, subtract the shipping cost and the refit of original parts and the look-over by S&W. Then deduct an additional 10% or more just for good measure and that is the most you should pay for this. Don't forget the cost of refinishing the pistol to remove the hideous markings.

After some thought I remembered that Regulator was one of the Pachmayr trademarks and at one at one time they built custom guns. Just can't think of anyway you could verify this. Are there any internal markings on the internal frame, slide or barrel?

@ $675.00,
It sounds to me like he is very fond of his 1006 and will be keeping it for some time to come. LOL

I actually live in Billings and have looked at this gun several times. The laser etching appears to be quite professional if not factory. Anyway First National Pawn is the owner and they have had it for several months. Gun is in good condition otherwise. I can go look at it in person if anyone would like and give a report.

There you go and already graded to boot. How convenient.
That's the original Regulator piece that Cookie used in the chuckwagon to keep little doggie punchin' saddle tramps out of the sorghum barrel.
Rawhide or the Regulator, take yor pick pard...
