I recently purchased a fiber optic front sight for my M&P 9. I have yet to put it on because it appears harder to see than the stocks in indoor or low light conditions. Is it just me. Should I just add it then see? Does anyone have any insight on this issue.

You could temporarily fasten it dowm to the slide with clear tape or something, it would not have to be aimed correctly to eyeball the sights under the conditions you expect to encounter. There are also TFO (tritium fiber optic) sights, I personally do not see those well under low light conditions. You can also change out the fiber optic rods to other colors. Everyone sees their sights differently, under differing light. The problem with fiber optics is that they require a little ambient light to work.

I have both kinds on different guns I use for IDPA. You're right, a fiber optic sight indoors in dim light is just another post sight.
Tru Glo makes a combination FO/tritium sight (the tritium is for low light advantage).

No. My eyes and fiber optics don't work well together.
