I have a full size 945, that I've decided I like, but really dislike the target sights. Does anyone know if regular 3 dot combat sights can be put on these? I've actually thought about selling it but can't bring my self to part with such a fine piece, but really wish I could see the sights better.

You could allways put some dots on the sights you have.

I find the fiber optic front with the standard rear sights to be the best setup. There are several from Novaks, Dawson and others, I really like the Brazos micro dot myself.

CQB,
What I want is a combat rear sight. It already has the target sight on it. Will that pyramidal rear sight blade fit on the 945 slide?

could you post a pic of your gun and sight.
My 945-1 (sold)
had the wave pattern slide cut and came with 3 dot sights and the rear was the adjustable wilson.
me personally, I am not a fan of three dot so I purchased a tall front black post for the front and wilson combat made a target rear blade with a .110" notch. I called wilson and they told me how to remove and it went on easy. I dont recall the process.
when I sold my 945-1, I put the original sights back on. I did use a sight tool for 3rd gen smiths for the front and IIRC, I had trouble with the sight tool due to the serrations were near the dovetail when caused some issues and the sight was tight.
I would call SW PC first and see if they have the dot front and rear blade for you. if you dont have access to tools, you might be able to just send you slide to SW and they can install for you.
or call wilson combat and speak with tech. the few times I have called them, they have been most helpful.
good luck

here is a copied poster I got when I bought my 945. the poster says three dot sights, so I bet SW PC has them. my 945 was sweet but I needed money to buy a gun that my dad bought me when I graduated from the police academy and I had sold and when he died I wanted it back and found it. it cost me almost what a new 945 sold for in 2005.
