Default Plastic Mag Release in 9XX & CS Series

Has anybody had problems with the plastic mag release on their 908,909,910,915 or CS series guns? Does it ever need replacement?
Thanks!

The only thing plastic about it is the nut (button). The mag catch body is steel. (If you ever have one outside the frame, you can use a magnet to pick it up.)

The nut is a 1-time installation/use item that snaps on (and off) the left end of the mag catch body (a raised ring/rib inside the nut). If it's removed it should be replaced with a new one.

This picture shows the Value Line (and CS series) mag catch & nut on the top, and the standard mag body & threaded nut on the bottom.

There's also a "tornado" spring located under the plastic nut, around the shaft of the mag catch body and with the large end against the back of the nut. (Not shown in the above picture.)

As an armorer, I'd leave it alone unless it has to be replaced due to an actual problem.

The 915 does not have any plastic parts . . . except the grip, of course.

Thanks for the responses!

I tired a magnet on the button (nut) of a 908. Since it did not stick, I just assumed that the whole thing was plastic. I guess that sometimes the internet is wrong...

Good to know about the 915. Last week, Scheels in Sioux Falls, SD had a lightly used one with seven mags for $379- seemd like a good deal, especially when the used Glocks were more $$$ with one mag.

From my reading of the various postings on this forum, most folks here who have been lucky enough to find a nice 915 for sale and bought it are happy and would not want to give it up. FWIW
