i just purchased a .40ve today and took it to the range. i put 100 rounds thru it was overall satisfied. now that im home i went to give the gun a closer look and noticed how un strudy the gun is. it seems that slide wobbles sligtly from the frame.. has anyone noticed this or is this normal.. it isnt a major wobble but it is noticable...

ok must be normal.. dont mean to be over paranoid but its my 1st gun.. dont want any issues haha

I have a little play in mine as well. I've read on some other forums where this is completely normal, so long as it's not a whole bunch of wiggle.

IMO the loose fit is common to many polymer guns. The wiggle between the slide and frame never seems to affect the battery/lockup of the barrel on mine. I have about 1000 rounds with zero FTE stovepipes. FYI sigmas need very little oil. Too much can cause problems and make a mess in your holster on those hot summer days. Have fun Keep on shooting.

thanks for the help.. now how much is too much

The Sigma likes to run almost dry.
Clean throughly (I like CRC silicone spray to clean out the frame and mags, then wipe dry) and put one drop of lube on each of the 4 frame points, plus 1/2 drop where the sear contacts the striker. NO oil on the striker or trigger linkage.

Think of it this way, a 1911 original will rattle but always fire. If you tighten up the slide and make the rattles go away, they get a little finicky! At least thats the way the one i had was,it didnt like certain blamo. My 40ve always shoots no matter what i put through it and it rattles a bit,my theory, NPF!

Thanks for the information about the oil and crc silicon spray.
