Default How about a S&W single action army type

Hell froze over when S&W started making 1911 style pistols. I'd love to see them enter the CAS game with a single action! I'm sure S&W would have a major board meeting though before the lawyers let them put a traditional "spur hammer" and NO LOCK!

Smith made 1911 parts for the Army long ago. My issued 1943 Remington Rand had a Smith and Wesson barrel from the 60s in it in Iraq 2003-2004. The Smith and Wesson did make a single action Army pistol. It was called the Scholfield model and limited issue to US Calvary troops. They did another run in 2000 I believe without the lock. Or are you talking about that other 1873 Army pistol?

According to Roy Jinks, they actually considered it once. So many manufacturers had entered the game, they decided the market was already saturated.

A reasonably priced Schofield would be a hit.

I am more of a Smith fan than a Colt fan, but would consider a S&W SAA kind of offensive, even though I'm fine with the S&W 1911. I own one of their Schofields and have long wished they would reintroduce a new model Russian.
