Yes to a long slide. That would be an even better option but like they offer with a few others.

Well here is the New Year bump request for S&W M&P 10mm!
With the current gun banning administration in Washington D.C., I'm sure we will never see Smith & Wesson dedicate themselves to producing such a fine weapon in this potent caliber!

So S&W finally introduces an "M&P10"
...and it's a .308 Win camouflaged rifle...

I'd be all over that as if it were white on rice! Shadow and I have known each other for a long time.
Yep, if they would make an extra long slide (7" would be a great hunting length.)
I'd like a 5" barrel in the M&P 10mm. I want the cartridge to provide the power engineered into it.

I just saw this thread and I ABSOLUTELY support S&W making an M&P 10mm Pistol.
The only reason I own the dreaded "G" word is because they make their model 20 & 29 in 10mm. I'd really love to get away from Austrian made firearms, but the price point is right!
I don't understand why every one is raving about the 45 ACP when they can have a 10mm! The 10mm shoots better and is 2x as powerful!

A 5inch M&P in 10mm would be a fantastic duty weapon. It would give the Glock 20 a run for its money for controllability of that harsh round. Not to mention it would feel better. Oh and offer it in OD Green and FDE. Then offer a 6in compensated barrel in the store.

That's why I own the Model 20. It works, is darned near corrosion-proof and kicks bootie! The cartridge is one fo the best antipersonnel and medium sized game hunting handgun round to date.
Yes, S&W needs to re-focus on the round.

In the wake of all the renewed 10mm interest: Resurrection!
I'd like a four inch model M&P 10. Really I'd buy whatever came out. How about a run after the LASO runs are finished.
Simple conversion here:
.45 frame
.40 slide reamed out with a name change on the front.
Tritium sights
Apex internals
Five mags take .45 mags and tune the feed lips to .40 specs. Leave the followers alone.
Send me the first one. I'll evaluate it in a positive manner and provide feedback.
Thanks for listening Smith and Wesson!

I've got a custom longslide 1911 with a stainless frame in the mighty 10mm, and a Glock 20 as well.
I'd love a four AND a five inch M&P in 10mm.

So I thought about it again and I have decided that I still want an M&P 10mm. Some of my specifications have changed.
I believe that a five inch barrel would be best at this point for developing the most velocity out of the chambering. I do not particularly want one as I do not shoot them as well and I want a four inch to secret away for hiking in the world and the woods. Why not capitalize on the 4.5" .45 frame and make most folks happy?
I request the following:
•Full size .45 frame with inserts in small, medium, large and extra large
•Bull barrel; fully supported with polished ramp and match chamber
•Second barrel chambered in .40 S&W with similar specifications.
•Warren tactical rear sight with tritium insert subdued.
•Novak front sight serrated tritium white outline.
•Seven magazines: (5)conventional 15 round flush fit and (2) 18 round extended magazines with spacers.
•Apex Forward Set Sear and Trigger set at 4.0 pounds.
•Apex Ultimate Striker Block kit
•BladeTech holster with Teklok, paddle, DOH, and MOLLE hardware.
•Raven Concealment Quad mag pouch and double mag pouch.
•Field maintenance kit consisting of: Boresnake, small bottle of CLP, silicon cloth, nylon striker channel brush and zip up case.
I feel like this package is more than sufficient to carry a good deal of ammunition into the back country and sustain weapon and self in an outstanding manner. It will work day or night, rain or shine. A gun that goes bang every time with authority, doesn't hiccup and is simple to maintain away from the warm and cozy. What an M&P should be; now better.

I'll take a couple of the M&P 10MM's. I was a revolver guy long before I was a semi-auto guy, but I'll pass on the 10mm revolvers. With my 357mag snubby, 44 mag 629 and ported 4"bbl S&W 500 Magnum, I think I've got everything covered there and I really have no need for a 10mm revolver. But in a M&P series semi-auto, heck to the yeah.

Well S&W take note, SIG-Sauer is going to produce a 10mm on their 220 pistol platform...Still waiting for your offering be it the M&P 10mm or remakes of the 10xx series...
Don't miss the opportunity to get in on this action!

Well looks like S&W will be losing more business since Glock is coming out with the G40 Longslide 10mm that is optics ready.

I never owned a 10mm, but if they made a M&P 10, I would a year or so after they work the bugs out.

M&P 10mm or Sig P320 10mm.
Whichever comes out first.
Then the G20SF and G29SF hit the used market.

In order for S&W to do an M&P in 10mm they would have to build a frame specifically for the 10.
If they attempted to modify the existing 45 M&P it wouldn't work.
If they introduced a beefier frame designed from the ground up, with reinforced internals and a 22lb spring (minimum), I would sign up in a heart beat!
10mm shooters want a gun that can withstand a steady diet of true 10mm loads.

Have 5 M&Ps currently, 20 plus other Smiths. I'm a diehard S&W fan but am about to purchase another Glock. I'd gladly sell the 2 Glocks and buy a Smith hunter in 10mm. Guess my money will be going to Glock, again. SORRY Smith, time to catch up or lose out.

Chipper, I can sympathize, as S&W is missing out on the strongest 10mm gun following and the push for another great 10mm offering by S&W.
Looking over this thread and hate is another there have been many of us looking for another, possibly the M&P10mm or remake of the 3rg gen 10XX series.

Bringing this thread back to life so that smith and wesson might realize how successful the Sig 10mm has been. Time for smith to get in there and make a M&P 10mm.
I suggested an M&P 10th anniversary 10mm edition but they as usual just shrugged it off.

Yeah... wishes...
However, I scored a Dan Wesson Bobtail Classic Commander a few weeks ago, almost LNIB, complete with a 40 S&W conversion setup. I'd still like an M&P in 10mm, but most of the 10mm pistol itch has now been scratched!
