Default Laundry List of Smiths I wished they make

The Model 19 in both 3.5 and 5 inch barrels

Tapered and heavy. Ditto 586.

The Model 13 with a 5” tapered barrel like the 5” Model 10.

Regarding the lock, move it to the butt of the frame or change it to the strain screw.

A 4” N frame in .45 ACP like the Model 24.

Model 610 Mountain Guns in both 10 mm and .38-40 WCF or one with interchangeable cylinders. For those who forgot the defining characteristics of Mountain Guns are a 4" tapered barre with an ejector rod shroud, round butt, black powder bevel on the front of the cylinder and all black adjustable sights. The .38-40 might get a different model number.

The 1980s 4" 624s are nice revolvers. Owning one has kept me from buying a .44 Magnum Mountain Gun. I do not enjoy more recoil than a warmed up .44 Special reload in a revolver this light. You'll find an original 4" no lock 624 quicker than S&W will make new ones.

I have been looking for a 4" no lock 624 for the last four or five years. No luck. I really do not think they exist; at least not in Arkansas.

A full metal competition pistol that can be used for action shooting.

Look don't get me wrong. The M&P's are fine pistols (if you add a load of custom parts) and the 1911's are great (but only if you shoot single stack).

I would love for S&W to come out with a full metal pistol to compete with. Something to compete with the CZ's etc. I mean look at Walther coming out with a full metal version of their competition pistol because in action shooting sports you don't want light weight. You don't carry it concealed. It needs to eat recoil and shoot fast.

I've missed a full metal pistol since their Gen 3's. Those guns had amazing triggers as well and there were competition only models of those.

Would it sell more than the EDC market? No, will it have a market? Of course it will. Can S&W do it? Of course they can.

At this stage I only really compete with their revolvers. My M&P 40L CORE does fine for 3 Gun but it's heavily modified. Would I compete with a M&P in Production? No. I know you can't buy skill but no one can deny that you can always buy the best gun for the division and S&W just haven't had a horse in the race for decades now.

2nd suggestion is since it seems the 10mm Auto is making a comeback with many a company coming out with "Long slide - hunter" models as of late, why not bring back the S&W 610. A nice sweet revolver that can shoot 40S&W as well. Even Ruger is taking up a big space in that market with their Ruger GP100 in 10mm Auto.

Makes it easy to make Major factor in IPSC Rev division and just a sexy revolver. More so if they can make it with an unfluted cylinder again. I know you can find them second hand in the USA but if they are not production guns we can't get them here in South Africa

being a brat now but what about something for the PCC division as well.
Love the M&P AR range. From the 22 to the 308 but we have nothing on offer in the pistol calibre carbine range. Another market that is up and coming with divisions in IPSC, 3 Gun Nation and in South Africa the DMG (Defensive Multi Gun) branch of shoots for IDPA. Everyone is feeling the heat in the PCC market and hence catering to it but as far as I know I've yet to find anything in the S&W range.

Can use M&P mags. It's been around for long enough and there are high capacity mags available. Not from Smith but 30 rounders are available.

Default Model 616

I want Green Frog's model 616 if S&W would only make one for me! A Stainless K frame with a 4" or 6" in 327 magnum. Ideally without a lock or lugged barrel either but I'll take what I can get from them. I'm not optimistic that it will ever happen though.

I built what would be in the automotive industry a “concept vehicle.” Although they are often quite highly publicized, they don’t often get actually built. On the other hand, Donald Healey got rich and famous taking basic British car parts and using them to build sports cars the world fell in love with. Just like British Leyland ultimately institutionalized the Austin Healey, maybe somebody could get this kind of idea reintroduced into Springfield. Maybe, but not bloody likely!

The best way to get a PCC from S&W is to put a long barrel and forend and a buttstock (folding) on a 627. Load up on moonclips and you're all set!
