I'm a big fan of the 10 mm round. I have several 5" 1911s in 10mm that are great shooters but always wanted a Commander length model for carry. I've had two of the Dan Wesson bob-tail Commanders and both had similar feeding problems that couldn't be solved with gunsmith tinkering so they were not reliable enough for carry. I took a leap of faith and ordered this custom gun from Fusion. I just took delivery last week and have only had it to the range once, but so far I'm really happy with it. Fed my hand-loads and all the 180 grain Federal HydraShocks I put thru it. I'll feed some more thru it before I deem it ready for carry, but I thought some of you 10 mm fans might like to see it!

Very Sweet.

I also love the 10MM. Your post has made me realize I have no 1911 Commander in this chambering.

I have 1911s in 5", 6" and 7". T/Cs in 10" and 14". S&Ws in 2 1/2", 3", 3 1/4", 3 1/2", 4 1/4" , 5" and 6 1/2". Sigs in 3 1/2" and 5". EAAs in 4 3/4" and 6". Plus my HK in 9"

This winter's project is now to build a Commander in 10MM

That's very nice. I'm curious, what is the recoil spring arrangement - single or double, spring weight, etc.?

Good luck and let us know how things go after further testing. :)

Single 20 lb spring is currently installed. Shipped with 18-24 lb springs included.

Brad,

Thanks for posting that one from Fusion. Back when I was all about the 10mm, Bob Serva and I had several discussions about Fusion making a CCO and a Commander for me. Seeing yours now makes me want one all over again...I have since cut back on my 'special' calibers to make my reloading bench smaller and less complex and as a result, have no more 10mms in the house.

As an adherent of the 10mm cartridge, I like it. I do, however, prefer a longer slide/barrel for extracting the most performance from this fine round.

Nice looking Fusion! A 10mm Commander isn't something you see every day, especially one as good looking as that one.

I never heard of Fusion before receiving one in 10mm, in a trade a few months ago. I wasn't going to take it in the trade, but after working the slide and trigger it felt too good to pass up. It shoots as good as it feels. I'm still not sure if I'm going to keep it, but not due to lack of quality. There are already a few 10s in my safe.

Anyways, I'd be interested in hearing how yours performs. I've heard about 10mm Commanders, but never got to hear how they shoot with warm loads.
