Recently had the chance to test out some of my 124gr standard pressure Golden Saber's on some gallon milk jugs filled with water. Standing at 10 yards I shot at 3 jugs, the first with a M&P 45 with 230gr. FMJ WWB, next my 5906 with 115gr FMJ WWB. Both FMJ's passed through-and-through with no real disruption to the jug. Next I shot the 124gr JHP Golden Sabers from my 5906. The milk jug jumped in the air as if it was kicked. On examination of the jug, the bullet passed through the front, but punched out about a 2" flap in the back of the jug (no bullet hole.) Managed to retrieve the slugs of the 115gr FMJ WWB and of the Golden Saber bullets. The 115gr FMJ slug almost slides into the center of the Golden Saber. The Golden Saber expansion is extreme, and all the "petals" remained intact. Here are a couple pictures to show a little comparison. Hope this is helpful to some in their selection of SD ammo.
