125 GRAIN XTP LOAD

What would make up a good moderate load for 357 magnum using the following:

125 grain XTP bullet
WIN 231 powder or Blue Dot powder

I know, blue dot is NOT recommended for 125 grain bullets but I have both on hand.

Any suggestions?

I've loaded many 125 gr XTP for my M28 and 640 in .357 using 7.8 gr of W231. Nice and accurate, right in the middle range.

Hodgdon list 8.5grs w231 as a maximum while the old Winchester data list 8.1grs as a maximum.

With a mod 19 6".............8.0 gave 1244 fps and grouped 6 bullets at 1.09 inches at 25 yards, for me. I figured that was good enough for me for target loads and never tried the 8.5 load.
