I've had good success with running 130 and 135 gr cast and plated RN bullets marketed for the 38 super in my 9mm 1911's. I'm not sure if it's the weight being "just right" or if if find he .001" over sizing is the key, but they shoot into tight groups.
In any case, I was wondering if anyone else uses 38 super bullets in their 9mm recipes.

Traditional .38 super bullets were sized .356, however most newer .38 super bullets are sized .355 because the newer barrels are sized .355 assuming you are talking about jacketed bullets. I have used the exact same batch of .124 rn fmj in both .38 super and 9mm with no problem. That isn't exactly your question I realize, but I hope the info helps. It is fairly likely your 130-135 grain bullets are sized for .355, not .356. You might want to check for sure just for the heck of it.

You might also be guessing where the max load is for your powder since those are unusual bullet weights for 9mm data.

All of my M&P 9s love the Xtreme 135 gr plated fprn(.356 dia.). I originally bought them to shoot in my 38 Super and one day loaded a few to try in my 9s. All of the M&Ps shoot them very well. In fact I just recieved shipment of 500 more from Xtreme last week.:D My 38 Super on the other hand, prefers HAP 125 gr bullets.

To be clear, I have my loads that work well. There was some extrapolating between 125 and 147 gr load info initially but I found my sweet spots without getting pressure signs.
Also to be clear, the 38 super bullets I've been using are from Berry's, Xtreme and Missouri. The first are .356. The latter .357".

Just curious how many others are playing around with the same bullets.

I shot thousands of 135s out of my 929 S&W sized .357 and they were extremely accurate. I've since switched to 160 grains and shoot the same bullet that I use in my .38 revolver sized .358 with no pressure signs.

I used the Xtreme 135gr plated in my C9 with seven powders from
bullseye to Blue Dot that kicked out from 805 to 1062fps with the 3.5" barrel
My 5" did from 866 to 1113fps for target loads, maximum loads, not tried.

I used the 135gr bullet for light target loads, since that is where it did its best
in my two weapons with a 1.14" OAL setting.

nothing unusual: 135 gr blue bullets with 3.3 gr of titegroup are being sent downrange by countless competitiors every week. Mine shoot crazy accurate. Happy w it.
