$14 Remington Rolling Block shipped right to our front door

Around 1962 we had a "big box type" store called Family Circle in Bricktown NJ. In the sporting goods dept there was a steel drum with '98 Mausers in mostly 8mm for $9.95, take your pick out of a couple dozen. My dad wasn't wanting to hear none of it, said "the Germans were shooting at us with those less than 20 years ago." Some were pretty nice, made an impression on a 9 year old. Better times. Joe

I had a 7mm Rolling Block and vintage ammo to go with it years ago. It was like shooting a flintlock. Every round was a hang fire :(

In the mid 80's I bought a Belgian Chomplane falling block in 7mm x 57. A local dealer had cases of 1920's Remington commercial 175 RN/FMJ & soft point (slip top box w/Red Lable). Every round went off just fine! The trigger pull was around 20-25 pounds (my RCBS trigger scale doesn't go high enough!) I used my index and middle finger to "gently" pull the trigger! I did manage to nail one groundhog. When I found his body he was in the exact position, looking ahead with nothing on his mind! 175 gr RN right in the ear!

I have a rolling block no4 22lr that I grew up with. I took it all over the woods. It was bought new by the civil war vet in my family{Rebel} new in the late 1800s. his JW is carved in the wrist. I still have it. I also have a NYST rolling block in near new condition 50-70 with original sling. I love the rolling block guns a very neat design.
