Good day fellow wheel gun aficionados

While hunting and gathering today I came across a model 15-2.

Yes, I bought it. K frames are like lost puppies...I can't pass them up.

Interestingly enough, it has what appears to be the electroless nickel finish which I believe is marketed as "satin nickel"

Searching this forum and the internet, I cannot find any reference to this being offered.

Is this a matter of my google-fu being weak or did S&W offer this?

(the standard catalog makes no mention)

Since no one has responded I'll give my tiny bit of satin nickel knowledge. Pretty sure not an option for a 15-2, just regular polished nickel. I do know they produced a few (very few) 28-2's in a brush nickel finish. Members are going to want pics for sure.

haven't figured out how to post pics yet...apparently, I can't have an "album" yet

But yes...looks like that. That said, that looks like electroless nickel to me.

I had a "satin nickel" Colt Commander that looked like that too.

the numbers and logo look of regular depth

one could say that the logo is little light on one side...but that often seems the case

the screws show that it has been opened...but it has not been shot much as evidenced by the trigger and it was a good price (400)

Need to do a trigger job and she will be a good shooter.
